    Hello there,
I just ordered a DELL Inspiron 6400 with this specifications:

    Processor & Graphics Bases:
    Intel ® Core™ Duo Processor T7200 (2.00 GHz, 4 MB L2 cache, 667 MHz FSB)
    Screen:
15.4" UltraSharp(TM) Wide Screen WSXGA (1680x1050) Display with TrueLife
    Memory:
    1024MB 533MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM (2x512)
    Graphics Option:
    256MB ATI® MOBILITY™ RADEON® X1400 HyperMemory(TM) graphics card
    Hard Drive:
    120GB (5.400rpm) SATA Hard Drive

I was told by DELL's vendors where i live before i ordered that its impossible to get that model with 2 sticks of memories running at 667MHZ.

    My questions are:
    1. Is there a big difference between DDR-2-533mhz and DDR-2-664mhz? i heard that latency is important too, which one was better on my configuration?
    2. Will it not delay performance if CPU is running at FSB of 667mhz and memory run at 533mhz?

buttom line, can i sleep good at night till i get this laptop? :)

    Thx in advance,
    Itay.

What I've been told is this: Yes 667mhz is faster than 533mhz (larger number, duh) but only noticable in benchmarks. Basically if you have 2GB of 533mhz memory then there is NO POINT AT ALL in wasting the money and upgrading to 2GB of 667mhz memory. Also, I've heard that the latency for 667mhz RAM is higher than that of most 533mhz RAM, making them perform almost identically.

    Basically, there's no noticable difference.

    Sleep tight. :)

There will be no noticeable difference. Sweet dreams.
