What is with these Dell insprion series they have the Inspiron R’s/iR’s last year they came out with the Dell Inspiron 7000 series, now it’s the Dell inspiron 5000 series are they replacing the Dell 7000 series?

If not and maybe I am missing something did they really need another Inspiron series?

They all offer the same sizes of Notebooks correct? And it’s not like Dell can’t have different configuration offerings for each notebook series.

I didn’t include the inspiron 3000 series because I think (and feel free to correct me if I am wrong) they come in only one notebook size and some are Desktops correct?

What I would have liked them created was a XPS 17 inch (similar) to the Dell XPS 15 inch (same high-resolution QHD+ display with 3200x1800 pixels( if not higher.) In-fact the lowest screen option would be FULL 1080P and have the same or better if possible specs then the Dell XPS 15.

I know there was already a zero chance of Dell creating a XPS 17 and now if all those inspiron series are going to remain intact there is an infinite zero chance of them creating a XPS 17 based on the XPS 15.

Eh, I don't think the discontinuation of the XPS 17 line has that much to do with the "expansion" of the Inspiron line... there already wasn't an l703x, and would have come out before the expansion. I would assume the l701/2x just didn't sell as well as its smaller siblings.
