    Don't know if anyone can help. I am buying the e1705 without the geforce7800. I may buy it in the near future. Is it easy to change and what would it do to my warranty. Or, do I have to buy the 7800 installed by dell?

    Apparantly if your using the integrated GMA950 graphics upgrading to the 7800 is not a possibility without changing the motherboard..

    yes, you can't upgrade from integrated gfx to dedicated on this model.

    Thanks for the info. The sales rep told me to order the card separately and that I could install it myself. I had read these forums about this same problem and needed to verify it. Guess I am not getting a Dell. Thanks for the help.

    Yeah, Dell reps makes it sound so sweet, but it isnt. They are trying to make a buck... that is all.
