I ordered a 9300 on Friday after the news was out on this board. 2Gz, 17"WXGA, 60gb 7200, 512Mb, etc... Anyways, Dell said it would be shipped on Dec 6th, and then be delivered around Dec 10th. I got an e-mail today saying it was sent yesterday, Nov 27th and should arrive Nov 29th. I thought for sure after a bunch of people ordered around that time that it would take some time. That is quick. Now, let's just hope that everything is in "working" order.
Anyone got ideas about a good case/bag to go with it? I'm a teacher and need some room for other stuff, too. Take care all.

Well, I ordered it on Friday just before midnight and according to my status it is in the boxing process.

My shippment date was also on Dec 6th, and the delivery around Dec 9th-13th.

I guess Dell is a week or so ahead of schedule.

Sweet, hopefully the 9300 I ordered last night will ship sooner than the Dec. 6th they initially stated. But, will see.

edit: just checked my status and it's already has the testing box check, on to boxing. Not bad for less than 20 hours.

I guess maybe my delay is because I ordered the remote control for example and it was not available.

I ordered on Sunday. It is in Production but the estimated ship date is the 16th-19th. What a difference two days make.

Hold the horses. Not the best news. I was all excited about my laptop showing up today. Turns out it was just the printer. Yeah. :( Anyways, I tried to see about my 9300 order but I couldn't get any results from "order status". Turns out that you can't see your order status if you are logged into "My Account". First you have to log out and then go to "Order Status". So as of now, my 9300 is in the "boxing" stage. Still pretty fast if boxing doesn't take a week.

I called Dell today to check if there is delays in my order since it has been in the boxing stage for 2-3 days now. They could not tell me if there were any delays but the representative filed out a form for expediting the order.

Also my printer has been in pre-production since day one.

When I ordered my 700m last christmas, the laptop and my canon i80 printer came all at once. But the free printer too about a week later to ship.

But I assume all of you already have a printer you use :p

After my order has been in boxing stage for 3-4 days. I checked the status and it is back to in production. They unchecked the Kitting, Build and Testing. So we are back to square one. I am going to give Dell another call.

Edit: Now it is back to Boxing ! This status check has a mind of its own.

I guess I should stop checking the status.

I ordered a 9300 on the 23rd and it sat in preproduction for a week and then they canceled it. I got the order reinstated today (after EIGHT HOURS on the phone with Dell Customer Diservice) and now it's finally in production. It's not supposed to ship until the 9th it says. That's bunk, I should get a free pass to get my order expidited since they screwed it up so badly. The sad thing is that when they canceled my order, they didn't even send me an email telling me it was canceled. If I had not checked the order status, I would still be expecting it to show up right now.

I got a pretty **** good deal though I think.

    Here's my system:

    1.73GHz
1 Gig RAM (had to get it to get my system over $2000 for the $750 coupon
    100Gig HD 5400
    TV Tuner and Remote
    Go6800 256mb
    9cell battery w/128mb key disk
and the POS Dell Printer free

Anyone use their free Dell printer? I've read reviews to the effect that it's a complete piece of junk. I'm trying to decide if should bother wasting my time hooking it up.
    DVD Burner
    Bluetooth and wireless g
    plus a netgear G router

all for $1300. Not too bad. A similar HP would have been a lot more, and noisy and hot. Though, the 8 hours on the phone with support was a really big drag. It's amazing how much time they spend spinning their own wheels and not helping people there.

Yep, still in boxing. Really, how long does it take to box a laptop with no mouse, keyboard, etc... They either just say it is in that stage to show progression or they have more organizational skills between testing and boxing. I'm going with a little bit of both. Anyways, I might have to give them a call and look into bugging them for expediting that badboy.

I would definitely give them a call.

My order was setting in boxing for 4 days. I gave them a call. They promised to expdite it. The next day my status was reset to pre-production and I got worried. But then it went quickly to boxing and the next day it shows that it was shipped.
