Hello, two days ago I was authorized a replacement for my 1520 which was literally falling apart. It had a bad lcd that was replaced, the bezel was replaced from scratches caused by the repair depot, the front left speaker went out, had a fan and heatsink replaced, the lcd screen wobbles, the battery is loose, the dvd drive is loose, and when the fixed the speaker they were supposed to replace the motherboard and fix everything that was loose but didn't. So apparently their sending me this:

Is my 8600m in here I can't tell? Not sure why everything seems so cryptic. I know the processor was downgraded so I'm not sure what I'll do about that. Thanks for the help.
-
hi... you should get something in the list like this:
1 MN555 MODULE..., CARD (CIRCUIT)..., GRAPHICS..., NVIDA, 128MB, G86
and why would you let them downgrade your processor??? you have a 2.2GHz with 4MB caché!! and they're taking 2MB caché and 200MHz from you... I would call them right now and tell them to correct this right away. -
It's already shipped so I'll have to wait until it gets here to take action. Isn't the 8600m 256mb?
-
yeap, that is the 8400m of my vostro...

Apparently this guy received a similar replacement: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=234460&page=11
He had the same video card listed in his invoice and it turned out to be the 8600m. Also will my 85whr panasonic battery that I'm using on my 1520 work with the m1530? -
Hey there
Glad you are getting the replacement..When is the expected arrival??
Cin' -
The 15 or 16th. Not sure what to do, I had a T7500 in my 1520 and a 9 cell 85whr battery, both of which I'm not getting with the m1530. These are upgrades I paid for.
-
And how much did you pay for your 1520 total? Because the 1530 is probably much more expensive.
With that being said tho, you should be on the horn with them now. For one the T7250<<<<T7500. Nor do I see the graphics card listed.
If it indeed does have the 8600 in there, maybe they can ship out a new CPU and have a tech replace it for you. So you don't have to send out this laptop. -
I got a M1530 to replace my I6000
1 XR147 Module,Assembly,Base (assemblyOr Group),256M,M1530
Thats the 8600
exactly what it showed on mine. -
I spoke with a representative and he said there would be no problem giving me the 9 cell battery. He told me they don't carry the T7500 anymore and that's why it was not included, but they should at least put a T5850. But honestly I'm getting something better and that's all that really matters. Sneakyasiankid you got one hell of a replacement, a T9300 and a Blu-Ray drive......
-
Yeah, that is hard to argue about getting a M1530 instead of I1520
. If I was you, I would do some research for some benchmarks between a T7250 and the T7500. I mean the CPU is the CORE of the computer. I would still be a little irked that they decided to downgrade me. If anything they should have gave you a T8300. Which kicks the T7250 in the pants.
Dell is sending me an M1530 replacement?
