OKay so heres my story. A few days ago on the 20th, a Dell lady messed up my order and had to reorder it the next day. Sounds dumb of them right? It was, but to compenstae for it she promised me next day shipping and an expidited order. OK so now after really ordering on the 21st, I was expecting my laptop on an estimated date of August 8th, but I recieved it this morning. Fedex express delivered it this morning at 9:30 when they estimated it would be delivered at 4:30.
Ok this is all just to get the computer. Now that I have it I can say that it is perfect. I hear no noise with the Headphone jack with my pair of $40 phillips headphones, My screen is PERFECT!!! There is no graniness on it. And to top all of this off, I got a free remote.

lol well the premium you paid sure came in handy! look how fast you got it! lol. its not going to matter whether i get overnight or ground shipping seeing as how dell is taking forever with (a lot, mine included) of orders.
@frozen..im addicted to calling their automated order status..except it always brings me bad news...either that..or it puts me on hold then brings me bad news =(...i thought it was common right now for dell to take this long w/orders? -
After initially ordering online, I realized that I had made the wrong color choice and attempted to ammend it by calling in. Unfortunately, I did not realize that they had to completely cancel and reorder my computer. Although I told her to hold on so I could decide whether the extra wait was worth it, she canceled it anyhow. Consequently, I reordered with ammendments but lucked out as the new deal period had commenced so I got a better config for the price. This entire experience on the phone, of course, took an hour.
The following morning, I realized that the epp discount was not put in place so I called and after 5 transfers to different departments, finally reached someone who was competent enough to cancel and replace my order but not competent enough to place it with the same components as I had ordered despite my checking with him three times. Before anyone assumes that he was foreign, I can assure you that this rep was from America. Of course, this took an hour.
An hour later, I realized that the order was incorrectly placed so I called back. After 3 transfers, I was put with someone who put me on hold for 20 minutes before dropping on me. Called back, same ordeal with transfers, hold, and a drop on but this occasion, the rep called back because I had escalated this to a manager immediately so I could avoid these issues. She found the original cs rep who then cancelled and ammended the order correctly but refused to acknowledge that he had made a mistake or to make a concession in this regard on my behalf. Meanwhile, I am an incredibly patient customer. I never raised my voice and I was very patient and understanding with them because I understood that they don't have the most glamorous jobs in the world and oftendeal with difficult people. However, this was abonimable service and I informed them of this because I felt that I should not have to work so hard to give them more than $1200. Also, since I plan to get another laptop for my father, it would behoove Dell to at least treat me respectfully as they would be losing out on at least two purchases. Generally, I would deem spending in excess of 4 hours on the phone and ordering 4 times a bit ridiculous but I needed a laptop. Luckily, the manager was listening in and when the cs rep dropped, she informed me that though she could not authorize a discount as she did not work in sales, she would expedite the shipping to next day air for free and try to call me to occasionally inform me of the progress of the order including when it was ready to be shipped. That sounds great but I am a bit wary that this might not really come to fruition. -

I totally agree with chesieofdarock that dell is a great company, as they are giving me a brand new 1520 in place of my old e1505 because of a BSOD issue that they confessed they can't solve......note that i used my e1505 for over a year and you can see the config. in my sig.(both new and old).
