Just a heads up, Dell issued some standard coupons on Thursday for $200 and $300 but today they released a new one that's better. Use coupon code 9D42R7W2D0?F0B to get 30% off any Inspiron that's $1,299+

Anybody have any thoughts on whether to jump on this or wait until Black Friday for something better?

I'm jumping on this tonight, first time i seen 30% off in a couple of months.
-
Yeah, I'm on this 30% one...
All I've seen lately is $300 off and 20% off.
On the configs I was looking at this 30% coupon was well over $600 off. -
Thanks,
Paco -
So freaking tempting. I was planning on either waiting for the new chipset or the next 35% off coupon...but this is like
-
thanks op just ordered my inspiron e1505 saved $530
-
Pulled the trigger on an E1505
Core 2 Duo 2GHz
SXGA+ screen
2GB ram
160GB HD
X1400
Intel Wireless
3-year warranty
I only intend to keep it for ~2years, but I figure it being under warranty will help me sell it when the time comes.
The Vista upgrade is nice as well.
Doing my research, it seems the X1400 will play the only 3 games I play now, and foresee playing - BF1942, Civ4 and GTR. The 7900GS was maybe overkill. And I really didn't want a 17".
The only real negatives are - no DVI, no gigE
But, whatever, it was $1246. -
I just ordered mine few minutes ago, couldn't resist it. It's the one in my sig.
If you need a system now, no point in waitting unless you don't care. -
wow very good deals to be had from that! Possible for DELL US to deliver abroad?
-
Why cant Dell offer the same choices in Sweden like they do abroad =/
-
I had to jump on this too. I have been in the market for a laptop for a couple of months now. This is my first laptop and also my first PC order from Dell. Wish me luck. This is how I configured my system:
Inspiron 1705
7200 C2D (4MB Cache/2GHz)
UXGA Display
XP Media Center OS
2 GB RAM (@533)
NVidia 7900GS
80GB 5400 Hard Drive
8X DVD burner
9 cell battery
Extra battery adapter
Dell B/G Wireless
Bluetooth 2.0
Total before discount, just over $2000. Total after discount, just over $1400.
Question: Do Dell systems come with some sort of "restore" CD or disk image. With this being a laptop I am a little concerned that a good bump will kill the hard drive, resulting in a reinstall.
Thanks ...
(I should be in for a treat. My current home system is a P3 650MHz desktop.) -
With the E1705 you have the option to have the CD sent to you.
This option does not exist for E1505.
When I get a new laptop... I use it for a day or two, to see that it works well. Then I format the HD and clean install the OS. -
I did not have the option. The options I had were:
1. Media Center
2. Professional
3. Media Center with TV stuff. -
I also hopped on board. My E1505 was $1185 after saving $617.
Core 2 Duo T7200 2.0GHz
15.4 WXGA+ with TrueLife
2 GB RAM
256 MB X1400
80 GB 7200 rpm
8X CD/DVD burner
3-yr warranty w/ At-Home
Express upgrade to Vista
They've had $750 off $1500 before?? Wow - if one of those comes around, maybe I should get another one so I don't have to get up if the laptop's in the other room. -
I did not have the option for my E1505. I've been told that once I have my laptop in hand, then I have to contact Dell and get them to send me a CD. I def want one. It's beyond retarded to PAY for the OS and then not get it on Media.
Gee, they give me AOL on a CD.But not the OS!
-
I have not seen the $750 off for a long time, like a year or more so ago.
30% off and the Vista upgrade made this decision pretty easy. That's a lot of laptop for $1200 with 3 year warranty.
Dell issues new coupon for 30% off $1299
