    Dell just replaced the lcd on my xps 1730 now unmabe to find out what model lcd ?

    Dell just replaced the lcd on my xps 1730 now when I go into the device manager it just says generic pnp moniter and give a date of 06 21 06 . Did I get stuck with an old driver how do I check out what model my lcd is ?
    Also went into device manager right clicked on moniter only have a genreal tab do not have an advanced tab that tell me what make the lcd is.

    Well they replace my sharp with the SEC5443 bummer anything I can do

    Does your screen look bad? It doesn't matter who makes it as long as the screen is good. I don't care if a hobo made mine as long as it looks good.

    If it is bad, call Dell and have it replaced.

    well seams to be a little light leakage in the right corner . not along the whole screan just in the right corner

    Some light leakage is normal; don't fret over just a little bit. However, excessive light leakage is not normal and is grounds for a replacement.

    If your screen is good, why worry about getting a different brand?
