I don't know if this is like a really noob question or not but I have the Inspiron 1300 (it's really my dad's) and CPU-Z tells me that the memory is a 1x512MB PC2-4300 (266Mhz) stick. I opened the back of the laptop to confirm it and it was indeed 1 stick and the sticker said PC2-4300. However, CPU-Z says that the memory is only running at 200Mhz with FSB : DRAM=2:3. (The stock FSB on this laptop is 100Mhz but I did the pinmod and got the CPU to run at 133Mhz FSB). 133:200 is indeed 2:3.

My question is, is there a way to make the memory run at it's rated speed?(ie. 266Mhz?)?

I was also considering replacing the RAM with 2x1GB DDR2 667Mhz (PC2-5300) to give this slow laptop more memory as well as allow the RAM to run in dual channel mode. If I do replace with these RAM, will they run at 200Mhz (DDR 400Mhz)? or will they run at 333Mhz (DDR 667Mhz)?

Any help or pointers would be appreciated!!
