Hi, I have a dell latitude with a lcd screen that is very very dark and you cannot turn up the brightness or the contrast on it. Is it bad or can it be fixed? Any help would be appreciated. Thanx.

The CCFL backlight is not working. Try reseating the LCD cables, and if that does not work you'll need to replace either the cables or the entire LCD. Most likely the entire LCD.

If you plug it in to the wall outlet is it still dark or does it get brighter?
