Does it actually cause BSOD or does it fail Dell's memory diagnostics? What are you using to test the memory?

With the first pair of modules i had a BSOD for the first time!!!

    Running Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit!

I've tried testing memmory using :

    Memtest under windows

And diagnostic tools both gave me errors..

So i've asked for RMA got a new pair..

    With these ones..
I get NO errors with memtest under windows..
    Error with the diagnostic tool
And after 2 hours with memtest86+ (bootable usb) got 7 errors and one address fail!

But under windows new pair seems to work fine..

    So i don't know what's wrong..

I've checked out that my mobo supports up to 1333Mhz
but i can see that my modules rans at 1600 Mhz..

    Hi,
I'm using Corsair CMSO8GX3M2A1333C9 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 ram without any issues at all.
I ran Memtest from bootable disc for 18 hours when I put the ram in and got no errors at all.
Been using the ram in for about 3 months now and can't say I've seen any mem errors so far (touch wood).
Mine's the cheap corsair standard type ram at 1333Mhz 9-9-9-24.

You say your ram is running at 1600Mhz?
If so then I can see why you might have problems.
The N5110 default bios doesn't seem to offer voltage and timing settings to tune your ram.
If anything I thought the N5110 would just down scale the ram to run @ 1333Mhz.

Since you've tried 2 sets of the same ram it sounds like a compatability problem with the ram you've bought.

    You have the value versions..

    I prefer fast reliable memmory!

That's my point and now i have two pairs just waiting..

I will give a try again late tonight with memtest till morning to check the results!

Timing and voltage seems to be working fine!!

Corsair Value Select is reliable memory..
Models of corsair value select have VS in their part number and are labeled Value Select..
But the memory I have is not classed or marked as Value Select..

The Vegence series is more about performance.
In most cases it's great ram to oc and push your memory harder.
But since you've got a budget laptop, that doesn't offer any bios level form of manually tinkering/tuning/oc'ing or XMP profile, then in all honesty I can't see the point of using 1600Mhz performance memory.
But each his own, as long as it works as what it's meant to ;)

If the laptop or desktop was top of the range with every twiddly option in the bios then that's another story, performance memory would be my only choice.

So for your peace of mind you'd rather have 2 sets of performance memory that have intermittant compatability issues and you can't utilize at max performance as opposed to having ram that actually works without error?
Makes me wonder which ram is more reliable in your situation...lol

Fingers crossed and I hope it works well for you.

The thing is that with one module i don't have problems...
With Dual DDR3 there seems to be a problem..

I will give a shot for a lower memory next week and keep these 2 pairs for backup :p

But definetly is a hardware compatability problem!

Does it support 8 gigs of ram officially?

    Yes, it does.
The processor supports 16GB and the Bios 8GB.
    So max is 8GB.

    It's hardware compatibility problem, obvious.
Use other ram sticks or buy the official dell 8GB kit.
