if it takes them 10 days to box my 9300 and put it on a truck...

I recently ordered an I9300 and one day afterwards it was through all stages of production except for boxing. I thought that I was going to set a new record from order placement to bootup as I spent the extra money on two day delivery. You can imagine my surprise when today, six days after the notebook entered the boxing stage that it is STILL in the boxing stage. I called Dell today to find out the problem and after 4 transfers with no further explanation than being read the paragraph located on the dell site explaining the boxing stage (see below for said paragraph) the CustomerCare rep put me on hold for 20 minutes, forcing me to hangup as I was late for class.

The best part about this whole thing (look for the sarcasm here), is that two of the reps after telling me that it might be another 4 days before it is shipped (which brings the total to 10 days to put the thing in a box) tried to explain to me that each order is customizable, built to order, and thoroughly tested before shipped. I responded with: "Yes, I'm aware of this I assume that's what the stages kitting, build, and testing are for..." The reps said: "Oh, sorry for the goof up... Let me transfer you to someone who might know more..."

This is ridiculous, is there something else that happens in the boxing stage besides what is outlined on the Dell website? And has this happened to anyone else?

Boxing Stage Outline From Dell's Website:

Boxing - Completed systems are placed in boxes along with the mouse, keyboard, power cords, documentation and manuals as requested by the customer. Once the Boxing is complete, the system box is sealed and placed on the appropriate truck for shipment to our customer.

I heard that the boxing stage is when Dell sends the computer from Malaysia to the states. My I6000 was in boxing for 3 days.

boxing includes the plane ride over from malaysia to dell's hub in the US. then processing w/in the hub and then out onto a truck. once it's on the truck, then it's "out for delivery"

edit: also, my 6000 was in boxing for 5 days.
