Well, I placed an outlet order for a sxps 1647 on fri 1/7. The outlet system and order achnowledgement e-mail indicates a i5 540m processor while the shipping e-mail indictes an i5 520m. It is interesting that I also received an e-mail telling me their was a delay in my system shipping.....

Would Dell change or send me a different system without letting me know?? the other specs appear to be the same from what I can tell. Dell has confirmed the "mixup" and offered me a $75 credit. should I take it if all the other specs are the same? I am a little miffed that Dell would try to send me a different system than the one I purchased without letting me know.

I am in the same situation. I bought another Studio 1558 and they sent me a Core i3 instead of an i5 and a lower resolution screen. I think the Dell Outlet is having some quality control issues at the moment.

^^Hop on Dell's Twitter Cares...you may get some resolve that way & some $$ back, etc... for their discrepancy. : )

I think Dell needs to be aware of these issues.

My xps 1647 arrived and i decided to take up Dell on their offer for the $75 credit to my account. Due to the coupon and price I felt I still got a decent deal - the following ended up costing me $605 and change:

    i5-520
    ATI 5730
    1600 x 900 screen (the 1920 is a little small for me)
    320 gig HD
    4 gig ram
    9 cell battery

That is a pretty good deal that you got. I got $60 back, but I really rather have the one I ordered but I am tired of dealing with Dell now.

I agree Dell is frustrating to deal with but so are the other companies.... I wanted to get a dell precision m4500 but the outlet seems to void of any decent configurations these days...

Yeah, the recent coupons are killing the stock on most items now.
