So I placed an order for a Dell xps on friday during that 15% off sale they ran. I get a couple of phone calls and I told him I would call back to verify my information (the guy never verified he was from Dell and just started to ask for my person information).

I call them back, get a couple of sales representatives who check my order and tell me everything is ok. At 6 pm i check the status of my order and it is canceled. I call them back, they tell me I have not yet verified my information so I do that (address etc.) I get told that my order will be resubmitted.

I get ANOTHER phone call, the guy tells me he is so so sorry, and that he couldn't resubmit the order and I will have to do it online. Problem is the laptop is long gone....He tells me I can call Dell (didn't give me a number) and tells me that someone will reorder a laptop with similar configuration with the same price. I call the number he gives me and get re-directed 11 (ELEVEN!!!!) times only to get back to the same guy who tells me the same damn story story.

Is there anything I can do? I am planning on calling Dell outlet sales tomorrow one last time. Anyone have any suggestions? Has this happened to anyone else?

Yeah i've gotten a phone call from Dell before. They usually do it when they screw up on pricing and they try and find a reason to cancel it. About 5-6 months ago I ordered a fully loaded Vostro V13 for like $375. Within 30 minutes of placing the order I got a phone call from Dell customer service verifying my info. They put the order thru.

If they don't like the answer you give them they'll cancel the order.

I don't get why the guy lied and said he would resubmit the order, when he couldn't.

Is there anything I should do specifically when i call them tomorrow, or is this a lost cause?

Usually once an order is cancelled there is nothing you or they can do other than putting in another order. The only thing I can suggest is to call tomorrow and explain what happened and hopefully the CSR will give you a similar deal if the inventory is available.
