Now that I've had my vostro for a little while, I'm thinking there are some differences in the config I'd like to make, depending on the cost:
-Home Premium over Home (I didn't know I could get it before)
-Either 2GB of RAM, or getting some money back and having 512MB and buying my own 2GB (cheaper, but I don't know if they'll let me downgrade?)
-Bluetooth
-80GB of HD space is too small since I dual boot linux. I'd like 100-120GB.
What's Dell's policy if you tell them you're unsatisfied with your config and want to change some things? Do you have to return and reorder? If I wanted to downgrade the RAM would they send me the 512MB sticks and let me send them the 1GB I have now back or ... ?

You can do an Anytime Upgrade at...ANYTIME! to Home Premium if you wish. AFAIK, 512MB of RAM is not an option...1GB of RAM is the minimum. You can add bluetooth for yourself for like $10, so that's not a big deal. If you were wanting to dual-boot, you should of gotten a bigger HDD from the beginning...but you can upgrade that yourself if you wish.
I'm not sure if Dell will let you return your system if you just changed your mind... -
How long have you had the system?
Also, you do realize that you can do all those upgrades yourself, right? You don't actually have to have Dell do them. -
I could do them myself, but I've already paid for the 1GB RAM and 80GB HD, so it'd be nice to only pay the difference for the upgrade to 2GB RAM and 120GB HD. I guess I could try selling the RAM and HD on ebay.

I've thought about getting 1.5GB or 2.5GB, but I'm not sure I want to lose dual channel.
