Dell precision M6600 to M6800 screen swapping?

Hi, does anyone know if you can put a Dell Precision M6600 screen inside of a Dell Precision M6800?

Long story short my laptop motherboard seems to have died on my M6600 so I got a M6800... and unfortunately the screen got cracked. My M6600 is just sitting collecting dust so I figure why not put that screen in this one? Is that safe to do? Some of the other parts seem interchangeable and the screen size is the same.

 

1. Does the screen use an LVDS or eDP connection?
2. If so how many pins? 20, 30, 40, 44 or 50.
I have no idea on how the M6600 is designed.
2. I understand the M6800 had 3 different mobo's. I could be wrong but I am 90% sure of this. The difference is the connection to the screen. The older ones had an LVDS connection where the newer ones got an eDP in ether 30 pin or 40 pin. I speculate the 720p ones got a 30 pin eDP and I know my 1080p one has a 40 pin eDP. Also the 40 pin eDP is touch compatible but not UHD compatible.
3. If the ports match and the screen is ether a 1080p screen or an 720p one its worth a shot.

 

The easiest way to know will be to give us the model number from the screen off the M6800. If it's the IPS (eDP) screen, you will not be able to use the one from the M6600, if it's the TN (LVDS) panel, then you probably can.

 

On the Dell m6800 there is no soldered eDP on the motherboard ... I personally took 6800 myself and paid attention to it. So anyway there is an LDVS connection, the only question is what kind of LCD are installed on both laptops.
