I was lucky to get my XPS ordered last Thursday for 1600 after tax
with my same specs as in sig now it is over 2000!!! like why isn't dell more consistent? It's obvious that they have a ridiculous mark up on product if they can offer these sales so often
-
They're not consisent so when they have a $600 dollar sale off, it seems legitiment.

The night I wanted to buy my M1330 There was a deal for $499 off...that ended that day...I freaked out cause I wouldn't be able to get it..The next day...There was a new promotion for $599 off...If Id have bought it when I wanted Id have got a worse deal...
-
Technically, its all marketing and Dell is especially good at that. One shouldn't simply compare the $ or % off promotions that vary every week or every two weeks. Instead, you really want to compare the actual price of the system, with coupons, etc. and one will notice that the variances are not that great (usually within a 150 dollars or so; of course this is barring the ridiculous sales like 750 off 1500, etc. that usually occur at the end of the fiscal quarter).
Usually when there is a big $off promotion, then the additional coupons are limited, and when the additional coupons are in plentiful, the actual $off promotions are a lot lower. Then again there are those very rare instances when some are able to get an extremely great deal for real cheap... -
This actually makes alot of sense because the promotion had for $499 off had a different set up and I never checked out the actually price too much but it was about the same with $599 I know for sure that with the second they force you to take 36 months of Antivirus.

The last month, I think that I have trying with all possible setup, E-Value, coupons, online deals, EPP site, in french, in english, the day, the night, the weekend, when it's cold, when snow going much higher that my window, when I'm happy, when I angry
And for the config I'm looking for, the best price is always 1680$
When I have phone to dell.ca reps, he sending a quote pricing for 1580$, but, with less memory. If I add 1Go...the price will be 1680$
So....1680$ I will finish by understand and accept my destiny!

I prefer Dell's mild price schizophrenia to Apple. -
I know! I know! But the systems with rebates, usualy it's 2 or 3gb.
And it's why I call reps, for have the same rebate, without obligation to build with 2-3Gb...
I don't have news from reps... the rebates are terminated... What can I do with my quote price if reps don't respond to my email.
I will buy the new LG if dell.ca don't want sell. -
Apple hardware is VERY expensive
-
TRU DAT BROTHER! they should stick to Ipods Leave the computer department to windows and linux where it belongs
-
I saw dell just posted new coupons for the XPS m1330 line, so I jumped on the $599 off offer before it was gone. It's not gone yet, but it's a lot better deal than you will get after it expires. I guess you can't wait forever to make the purchase decision
Best Buy is selling a lower-end m1330 system (1.66 GHz Duo, 2 GB RAM, Red, 160 GB hd 5300 rpm hd, integrated graphics, 1 year dell warranty) for $1275 right now, but you get a much better deal with the $599 off the high end system at a final price of $1300 (2.0 GHz Duo, 3 GB RAM, 128 mb graphics, 200 GB 7200 rpm hard drive, 3 year dell warranty). So much cheaper right now and you can avoid the horrors of Best Buy customer service that way too. -
I think so far, one of the best deals on the m1330 was the early Feb/late Jan promo they had with 799 USD off + 10% EEP coupon + 12% standard EPP discount. There were many who were able to get a config similar to this for about 1200 bucks:
T7500 (2.2 ghz)
3gb RAM
128 mb NVidia video card
Intel N Next-Gen wireless
LED screen
200gb 7200 RPM SATA drive
Bluetooth
Vista Home Prem
4 year NBD CC warranty
6 and 9 cell battery
$70 dollar Gift Card
Of course, there were a bunch of people who saved even more by downgrading the RAM, warranty, low jack, etc. -
Yeah... but is from dell.com
The same system from dell.ca are 600$ much higger
I have made lots complaints about that and I speak with some reps and supervisor.
Alakazim, Alakazoum, after that... lot's rebate for march, dell.ca -
It might be in your interest to purchase the system in the US (send it to a relative or maybe a friend and then have them ship it to you). You can then do an international tag transfer for your warranty. That might be to your benefit, especially if the cost difference is as much as you say it is (i.e. 600+)

Also i agree with the guys posting about mac's they are too expensive. you pay over 2000$ for a computer get it home try to load some software or games and none of it works. so you put windows on it. why not just buy a pc and save money? Mac's are a waste. They should offer discounts/rebates so that they're ridiculously priced computers that won't do anything are at least at a price where you wouldn't expect it to do anything extraordinary.
And dell should be more consistant....check it out
Dell.ca On XPS M1530 the T8300 is 20$ more than the T7700....while the T8300 has same specs except 1mb less of cache
While on Dell.com On XPS M1530 the T8300 is $180 **LESS** than the T7700.....
Like what the HE!! that is retarded. no matter what our dollar is compared to theirs the prices should at least be relative. T7300 should either be more or less than the T8300 but whatever it is it should be the same regardless of whether you order it from www.dell.ca or www.dell.com -
When i bought mine in December, they were offering the $200 gift cards with very little discount. I think it was an upgrade in hardware... Well, i waited until after Christmas, and bam! They were offering the $699 off. Where i was originally going to pay $2200..i spent under $1500.00
But be careful...when they discount that high, check the hardware specs..they sometimes low ball ya, and the upgrades cost a fortune...thus back to where you originally started back before Christmas...
Dell prices change so fast
