I've pretty much settled on getting a Dell XPS 1530 in the $1000 range (pre-tax, CAD). I've looked at the site for prices over the past week or so, and it seems that an identical configuration will go between 900 and 1100, depending on sales (such as a 24-hour sale on right now).

I would like to have a laptop on me by, latest, mid-May. I have money now and I'll have money then, so that's not an issue. The question is, should I snag something now, or will prices likely be better (or at least the same) in a month and a half?

    Kindly appreciate your responses.

Prices on laptop will always be dropping, if you keep waiting, you will always be waiting. If you want more from your laptop then wait a little so you can upgrade more, if you need it now and are fine ith what you're getting, buy it now.

I think if your eyeing a good deal now, perhaps you should purchase ~ if you have the money set aside. Dell deals are everchanging..if you don't snag a great deal now, it could be gone the next day. And, you don't know exactly when the better deal will be back.

The 1530 is a nice lappy, as it continues to slowly be *phased out*..you will see better deals.

We can't foresee what type of deals Dell will have in 1.5 months from now. If we could..that would be awesome! ;)

I do agree that if I were to wait for a better deal, I would be waiting forever. However, if I were to get a laptop right now, or in 1.5 months, there would be no effect on me. I'm on my desktop right now and my old laptop is sold.

Check out the dell studio models with this coupon code for $250 off orders over $1,099; it should make the studio model more appealing than the xps line.

The coupons you have in the US is very different from those we have here in Canada... :( Here, we can get 100$ off a Inspiron 15, Studio 15, Studio 17 when over 799$ CAD, that's about the only coupon we have..
