Not bad, looks like they received shipments onf the 6800 GO on monday, since that was my ship date and on that date my order finally moved into the production stages. Probably had to fly the graphics cards out to Malaysia... [ :D]

Good Friday no delivery?? That is not true. I am getting it tomorrow according to Dell and UPS, which is good friday. I ordered it 3/17/05 so it took only one week to receive. Good job Dell! By the way, mine is WITH GeForce 6800. So I guess it did not delay my order.

Anyway, I went to a mall this afternoon and noticed that Dell Store still selling 9200 and they do not have 9300. mmm... those who do not surf internet, they even do not know new 9300 exists... I feel bad for them.[ :(]

I was hoping to be able to play and tinker with my system this Easter, since i have it off from work. O well, i won't see this system until atleast tuesday now, since i have work and school on monday... damn UPS!!! [} :)]

Deliveries do happen on Good Friday. It's a Christian holiday, but not really a business-recognized holiday like Easter is.

Poor MoJo... I feel for you. Maybe they'll get it together and find another way to make their deliveries. That's not like UPS. I think they are usually right on it, and probably the best in the business. At least they explain the delays so you're not left to wonder (like Dell did!).

My computer left Roanoke at 3:30 a.m. so it's on it's way here. Take about 2 hours to get from Roanoke to my area. Getting anxious! Mojo, I'll try not to rub it in. Actually, I won't have more than a couple days to play with my new laptop... then it goes to my friend who is going to clean it up and load all new stuff on it for me. (He's an IT pro!)

You're right; they do deliver on Good Fridays. But I have it sent to my office building, whose freight elevator guys are off today, so UPS can't delivery it.

Anxiously awaiting the arrival of my beast. It arrived at the UPS station down the street at 5 in the morning. @_@ I could walk down there and demand it perhaps. Should be here by 10:00. :)

there is still hope! I looked again this morning and it says it should be delievered today. It arrived in Commerce City last night. Thats where the main UPS facility is here in the Denver Metro Area. Looks like my package was air shipped here because, it say it left Nashville at 5pm on the 24th and got to Commerce City at 2am on the 25th. Only 9 hour difference, unless the truck driver was really hauling! [ :D] I doesn't say its out of delievery though... but time will tell, i don't have to work until 3pm and UPS usually comes around 2. So, pray for MoJo! [ :p]

damn UPS, didn't get it today and its slated to be delievered on Monday. Anyone know if UPS allows you to go and pick up your shipment from them, do they even work on saturdays? I know the UPS center for lower half of Denver is about 20mins away from my house and thats where package will sit until Monday. I can't find info on the website and of course customer support is closed. Ill call in the morning, just looking for some feedback!

As far as Dell shipping, I've heard horror stories. But my personal experience has been good. For some reason, both times I've ordered laptops, they have shipped my system about 4 days ahead of their estimate. I just ordered a laptop on the 23rd, and the ship date was set for the 29th (I check every day, and that's what it said up until last night.) This morning I checked and the status changed to "SHIPPED". Nice!

They had a good shipping deal where I got 2-day shipping for about $17... So it should be here Monday/Tuesday.

Anyhow, my best advice is PATIENCE. I know the feeling - wanting to rush down to your local UPS shipping center to try and grab it half-a-day early. Just let it happen, man!

Anyhow, I've got my digital camera charged and ready to document the laptop, and will submit a more recent review on the Dell 600M.

    Cheers!

I meant to say the UPS guy WOULD NOT leave the package on the porch. Ooops.

I got mine yesterday, as promised. Left the local UPS center at 9:30 a.m. and I had it at 1:00 p.m. I left a note on the door for the UPS to leave my box on the porch and cover it with a blanket I left out there. I figured I'd be getting ready for work and wouldn't hear him knock, and my husband wasn't supposed to be home at that time. As it turned out, my family was in the house when UPS came. The delivery man said he would leave it (with or without a note on the door), and I would have had to go pick it up if no one was here to sign for it. I figured they leave everything else sitting on the porch... they'd probably leave a computer out there too. He said they have a strict agreement/contract with Dell for delivery standards. Hmm.

I worked all night, didn't have a chance to play on the laptop. However, this is what I know SO FAR. The backpack I ordered for it is GREAT --- way better than expected... zippers and pockets and compartments everywhere. Nicely done. I originally ordered a 9-cell primary; the order was completed on the phone (with a 6-cell battery), but the 9-cell came!!! I THOUGHT I was getting a CD-RW/DVD-ROM Combo Drive. I got a CD-RW/DVD-RW instead! That's two upgrades and an impressive backpack. So far, so good! That, combined with 6 days ahead of schedule in spite of NVIDIA 6800 cards being backordered, has left a very favorable impression on me. Now, I think I'll play with it some.

    Later all!

Glad to hear sticks! My unfortunate delay, caused by UPS, means i can't get my system until Monday at the earliest. The hub place for lower denver does not allow for saturday pickups, so i probably won't see the system until Tuesday, since i have work on monday and then go directly to my Cisco class after until 10pm. Damn o well, i will have wednesday to tinker with it.

Also, it is true about them not being able to leave the system at your door step. They don't want to be held accountable if someone steals your 2000 dollar piece of equipment.

MoJo: I'm sorry to hear you have to wait even longer for your laptop. That stinks! I don't know about you, but I found it hard to concentrate on anything when I was anxiously awaiting the arrival of 9300!

The font on this thing is EXTREMELY SMALL. Can we just say "magnifying glass needed?" Wow. Had to increase the dpi to over 200%.

I ran out and bought an optical mouse and a parallel to USB cable so I can use this thing more like my desktop computer. Touchpad sucks, but not unlike others. It's going to take some getting used to. I've never owned a laptop before... my wrists kind of hurt... wish they would've put the keyboard a little lower and given me 10-key pad. Might have to buy one of those.

The screen wasn't bright too begin with, so I did turn it up a bit. Definitely eats up the battery when you do it, though.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you MoJo, that you get your 9300 very soon.

hehe thanks sticks, i won't see the system until atleast tuesday because of work and class but its all good. I picked up another toy today to have fun with, a PSP. [ :D] DAmn me and my technology crave, i want the latest and greatest stuff haha.

Also sticks, i found that try placking a book or something at the back of the system to raise it up and give the natural incline of a keyboard, that will also help with airflow. Maybe not much but every little bit helps. The lack of a 10 key is lame and they way they do the f keys is weird. I had an I9200 i returned for the I9300 and at 1440x1200 it was just right for me. I have a feeling im going to drop the res back to that when i get my I9300. Can't wait to get this and play Halo for PC in all its glory haha. [ :p]
