I got one and it has no sound. The Dell tech not only wasn't able to fix the problem, he created more. Now my status(numlock, caps, wi-fi, ect.) lights don't work and I can find places where you can tell it wasn't put back together properly. On 3/21 I contacted tech support and they said they would replace it, I'm still waiting for a new one to arrive. Most people had much better experiences than me, though.

I just purchased a 1210 and love it. Unit is top notch with no marks to show its a refurb. I did get a 3 year warranty just in case.

My D620 is a refurb and no problems with it.
Looked brand spanking new when it arrived.

I also got my Precision M90 as a "Scratch & Dent" from Dell outlet for a very good price. Well, the unit is really "scratched", there is one scratch on the cover and the unit seemed lightly used. However, I can tell that the unit was cleaned throughly and there is no hardware problems whatsover. Operation wise everything works just like a new unit. So far I'm happy with this purchase. I'd say if the price is good then go for it. You can always return it if you are not satisfied with the product.

Just got a Latitude 820, Duo Core 2.0ghz,2 gig ram,80 gig 7500 HDD,8X DVD DL,upgrade video card, delivered as a scratch and dent $1200.00.
Not a mark anywhere and a very nice laptop.
I can't imagine buying new unless your specs are way out there custom.
