    okay.. i couldn't believe that dell has finally released new drivers for our Ati Mobility Radeon 4570!!

    Driver 8.631
    Release Date: 12 October 2009

    I didn't see any benefit really in installing the the mobility modder drivers(was on 9.9). My COD4 was dropping to 20fps on occasions and I only play in 1280x720 with modest settings! I thought that game ran really well even on the Nvidia 8600Ms according to so many people. But COD4 runs pretty badly on my PC, gets my GPU to hit 88C even when I'm letting it breathe and all and makes me kind of depressed.

    I uninstalled everything and installed these new Dell drivers. The drivers installed, but the CCC is messed up. See attached picture for the error I get when I try opening it. Clicking on "Advanced View" gets me nothing.. Nothing shows up at all. I reinstalled the 9.9 CCC ONLY, still the same error message.

    Anyone else having the same problem? Could you atleast help me with why my 4570 is performing so poorly? Help will be really appreciated!

    THANKS

    They've probably reduced the settings and are playing at a ridiculously low resolution or something

    That kinda conflicts with the whole "maxed out" aspect of it.

    you guys have the same video card.. get the new drivers and let me know if CCC works for you and if YOU note any improvements or changes in performance. I know I'm asking for a huge favor and all but whenever you try the new drivers, let me know how they worked out for you. thnks!

    Call of Duty 4 honestly ran pretty well when I had it installed, and I'm running the older 1535. I was running on 1152x864, with one or two settings dialed up to medium and everything else on low.

    The ATI 4570 should rape the 3450. Maybe it's still not enough to max out all settings, but good frame-rates on Medium/High settings should be doable. There are some settings that affect performance more when turned up then others.

    @jawedib
    I use the old driver tat pre-installed when i get this laptop
    the average fps tat i get in cod4 with almost same setting with the laptop tat tested in youtube is 40+fps when few numbers of AIs, 20+fps when many AIs there, still playable (i test it in Act I war pig coz there lots of AIs there and can push gpu to limit)
    i doubt this driver is for vista, instead it is for windows 7
    one of my fren who use Asus n81vp with hd4650 also having driver problem when tried to install win7 beta driver into his windows vista
    i would suggest u use the old driver instead

    the driver is actually for my laptop.. and it works and all on games except the CCC error. Performance-wise its not the worst, I mean 30-40 fps I get normally on 1280x720 and pretty good settings(everything on except textures on Normal/High), BUT I was expecting more. The only problem that bothers me is when you get into intense firefights: I mean you're shooting at someone and you notice the framerate drop and that bothers me. Maybe because I've played it on the X360 and am not used to that drop and inconsistency. Anyhoo, I am guessing those youtube people too have those drops but they don't really see it since they are so busy in the intense fights and all :D

    btw.. I turn the settings(except res) down in multiplayer and the fps doubles up ALMOST
