I'm installing drivers back onto Vista after a clean install and the Dell Resource CD said my 1420 had turbo memory in it. I don't recall anywhere stating the 1420 had turbo memory in it. Is this just the Resource CD giving my faulty data?

My 1520 states that it has turbo memory too :D. I'm not complaining.

Just wondering if anyone knows for sure, because I don't want to install drivers for things that aren't really even there :\.

Only way to know for sure is to pull the keyboard and have a look. I'm sure you'll find the software is incorrect, though.

Internal mini-PCI card with onboard flash. Same idea as Readyboost.

Only right now it doesn't work right and the driver support doesn't exist. :)

Good topic here....my understanding is that Turbo Memory is a feature that Dell plans to make as an option but has not yet made it available for online configuration because it's not quite ready yet.

I think the manual is saying it could be configured, much the same way a Blu Ray drive or an 8600m add on would be. I doubt it's a standard built-in feature that is already there. I could be wrong, but that's just the impression I got from readings :)
