I have to applaud this move by Dell, although it's in their self interest cost wise, Dell is fighting Intel and Microsoft to get those stupid stickers removed from their machines calling it "other people's advertising"
Dell claims it takes 4 minutes to assemble a computer, and 30 seconds is spent applying stickers...that sounds like a stretch and they might be padding that number, but all the same it's a bottleneck to them and every second counts and every second adds up to pennies for Dell. Personall, I say good luck to them as I hate those rascally stickers.

I would actually like a Nvidia Go 6800 sticker on my future I9300...but no Intel/Windows
-
Will they include it on the side though?
I mean, it doesn't have to go on the laptop, it could go on...the car. Or on your VISA. Powered by Intel, LOL -

Yes, I don't mind the stickers....just..when you think about it...it's like having "Born in the USA" stamped on your head. -
seriously, why do people leave those stickers on anything? notebooks, camcorders, etc.
it's like driving around with the window sticker in your car from the dealer
before i even turned on my notebook, i pulled that crap off
it's like white trash chic or something -
I kinda like those stickers, if they are on straight. The ones I can't stand are the really big ones that have a lot of words on them... like toshibas.
-
I hope that they go ahead and do away with those stickers. I think they're ugly, especially the companies the that put like 5 of them on. If the sticker was put on crooked, like I have also heard, that would drive me crazy.

They should just throw the stickers in the box and tell you to put them on if you want to!
-
now that's a solution, they're making people burn their own recovery CDs, make them stick their own stickers if they want them
Usually the stickers are put on wonky, if a machine can assemble certain parts of a computer, why can't it put stickers on straight? Or do they have cheap labor doing that, boy I hope not -- I wouldn't wish such a job on anybody. -
yea sometimes the sticker bothers people. why dont they send the sticker with the computer in a separate bag with our RECOVERY CDS! and we'll put them on ourselves if we wanted. PLUS! it wont be slanted cuz we actually care for our machines. lol just releasing my stress haha
-
Seriously though does anyone else sometimes rub the stickers with their palms. It's not terrible, just...annoying. It would definitely be nice if they weren't there but I guess we could always take them off and use a solvent to eat the adhesive. -
I may be ignorant when it comes to assembly, but 4 minutes sounds like a very short time to assemble a computer. Are you telling me that they spend about this much time on an XPS2 (perhaps a little longer)? No wonder all those lemons get sent out... -
i don't like the stickers..and i would really hate it for like the stickers that come with some laptops when u buy it directly from the store...with like all the space under the keyboard filled up with stickers
....and my intel sticker is crooked...if it was STRAIGHT...then i prob. wouldn't mind too much

I always hated it it when I got a laptop that had crooked stickers. Unfortunatley, on the last laptop I had, all the other stickers were straight except for (how typical) the big aluminum Windows sticker, and that one I couldn't get off!
Yes, those laptops you'd get from a retail store like Best Buy have big stickers on the palm rest and pretty much everywhere. I have one on my laptop, on the palmrest, but it's not there for advertisments, so I just leave it on. It's an Acer sticker, shows it's specifications and features.
I think Dell is mainly complaining because it's a waste of time to put on those stickers...I wonder if they have to buy them or intel and microsoft just give the stickers to them... -
) haha. its good to have a nice clean one

Instead of spending time hoping dell will improve, just get a apple. Besides their also faster for their prices, have better costomer service, great compatiblity with windows, are reliable and come with all the basic software you need to get started (unlike dell, who just throws in demos of useful programs).

^wow, just wow

I take off those stickers, right after I make sure my notebook is working well.
