Dell shipping Vista with SP1 with new computers?

Hi all - does anyone know whether Dell has started shipping Vista with SP1 (on one disk) with their new computers? SP1 has been RTM for a couple weeks already.

If you've just recently gotten a Dell, please let me know what Vista OS cd you got, thanks!

 

No, they haven't SP1 hasn't been released yet. Only the RC has.

 

It's been released to manufacturers already. When they get around to pressing the new discs and releasing them with new pc's is anyone's guess.

 

Yeah, you'd have to wait until March for the official release. You can always download it (I'm sure there's a guide somewhere). It certainly improved transfer speeds, which always bugged me...

Then again, that didn't stop them from releasing BIOS A07 before it was on the Dell site. =P lol

 

OEMs should be shipping PCs with Vista SP1 now or within the next couple of weeks... The general consumer will have to wait for SP1 to hit Windows Update if they don't already have it...

 

I'm waiting for SP1 to be built into the discs before I do another clean install of Windows.

 

I really do think that at least Dell is shipping Vista with SP1 integrated already but we need confirmation from someone who has it before this can be verified.

 

I ordered a M1530 that is scheduled to be delivered by 2/27/08. If I can remember, heh, I'll post here if it ships with SP1.

 

So the question hasn't been answered heh, does DELL Ship Vista with the installed SP1 with the M1330's? I ordered mine last week.

I recieved my m1330 exactly one week ago (3/24) and SP1 was not installed on it. After updating some drivers for components that were installed I almost immediately recieved a windows update notification for SP1. I don't know if that helps with the questions but that was my experience.

 

I get mine later this week. Probably Thursday and I ordered it last week I'll let you guys know

RTMs are out for quite some time now, always wonder why Dell hasn't implemented it yet...

Installed it myself, and WOW, the speed boost is significant! Vista actually knows how to manage my harware resources now...

Very fast startup speed, application load speed, and awsome gaming performance. Got to love SP1

 

And it should only continue to improve with future service pack releases.

I got my m1530 today and it was not installed with SP1..

EDIT: ...and that's because Im in Sweden and we won't get it until the second quarter of the year (I just read that)...

You might not be back for a while then... The M1530 is a major cause of drooling.

What's funny is I ordered an HP on March 3rd 2008 and didn't receive it until March 23rd 2008 and it came with hardware failure so I had to send it back.

Well I move to Sweden on April 14th so I wanted to make sure I had a laptop working before I go so I called Dell and asked how long their shipping takes...

Order Date March 27th in the evening..

Shipped on March 31st
Estimated Delivery April 2nd

They bumped me up for free (2) day business shipping because I said I'm leaving soon.




WHY does HP take so freaking long compared to Dell?
