Hey, quick question.
I'm a student not associated with any business, and want to buy a Vostro as they are a lot better priced than the ridiculous inspirons.
The checkout has a "company name" required field. Will the dell small business police come after me if I just type something fake like "Paul's Riverboat Tours"? Should I just use the name of my school? Am I committing fraud here?
thanks

No, just put anything you please.
Home Business is fine too -
I had a SMB account for years, no business apart from a website I have and use to host pictures of my stuff.

Wow! Speedy responses!

My girlfriend and I both work as web designers for her brothers business. We were going to get the inspirons (just for the color) But he couldn't buy them on his business credit I guess because it wasn't a business labeled notebook. So we just decided to go with Vostros. I know if you want it tax free you have to fax them all your info for that. But if your not using a dell payment thing then theres no way they can't prove you aren't a small business.

My Mother in Law ordered a Dell Latitude recently. She just entered her name again as the business name. No worries.

If you don't want to lie/provide false information, just call up and order! -
The guy at my local Dell kiosk tried to tell me that if I ordered through Dell Small Business and used the computer for home purposes, Dell wouldn't honor the warranty.
