LOL, I guess it is just a preference type of thing. Personally, the only Dell software that I have is Dell Quickset, and I rarely use it. Actually, the only parts of my original system that I use is XP Pro, Cyberlink, Quickset, and the drivers. Everything else has been replaced by my personal favorites.

Same for me. I am not sure if Intel PROSet wireless is an XP or a Dell program, but I also love that one. It helps alot on campus... many students have trouble when using the default windows software, but proset works wonders (even allows you to set up different profiles, autoconnects depending on location, etc) .

Its a Dell program.... XP has an equivalent "Microsoft Client"..... but I like Intel pro better.

There is a lot of crapware on Dell Inspirons....you might be better off just reformatting + installing Windows, start off with a clean slate.

yes you can. like some of the stuff should be on the recovery cds that you can either burn it out or call dell and get your dell cds. i think most of the softwares you can dl from the dell support website but i couldnt find the dell media experience software online.

Mine didn't seem too bad.... The software that is only a one month trial is annoying, and I'm not a big fan of the cd/dvd software they put on, but I guess it is ok if you don't have anything else. Not sure if the UK build is different, I wasn't as annoyed with it as I was expecting. The MS Works stuff was only partly installed by default and came with the disks if you wanted to use it (i.e data files for autoroute, encarta etc - does anyone actually use those things any more?). I didn't even bother with the rebuild in the end. The quickset software is vaguelly useful. Disabling the dell support software is a good idea unless you like annoying messages though!

Yes, at least if you dont want any of that junk you can do a clean format and your computer will run twice as fast. Then its nice that you have the option to just install the stuff you want when your done reformating.
