    Hello there,

I'm planning to get a Dell Studio 1558 -or- a Dell Inspiron 1764

However, I have a concern about the fan of the dell studio; Will the screen block the air coming out of the fan causing more heat??

    Is it how it seems?!

This has been a "problem" since the introduction of the M1330/M1530. Some people say it blocks airflow, others say that airflow is redirected above the screen. Ultimately it's probably a combination of both.

I would assume that Dell has taken this into consideration by now, but if you're worried about it, just buy a different model.

I mean, I'd say the same for all Dells with the same kind of hinge... something on the lines of "if you're not comfortable with it, don't get it". The newer Inspiron and XPS machines are finally getting rid of this design so you might want to consider those?
