Dear Friends i am bit confused between these two laptops, can you give me suggestion that which is good system or worth for money. I'd like to do some gaming, definitely video editing/production and watch movies. Also... typical office apps, and photo manipulation, program compilation, dot net program development . I like to keep my hardware for five years, buying the best available architecture, but not necessarily the top of the line in performance. Your suggestions will be very much valuable for me. Waiting for your comments.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Y550's graphics card is significantly more powerful than the one in the Dell Studio 15. The Y550 will also benefit (slightly) from the use of DDR3 memory, it is slightly faster and uses 25% less power than DDR2.

The Y550 also looks and feels sturdier (like it would hold up to several years of heavy use) than the Studio 15....

ok, i dont know for the lenovo y550, but i've held a dell studio 15 and it feels sturdy. so according to allfiredup, the y550 should be sturdier which means better. i would go with the lenovo because of the gpu. if the dell had the gt240, i would go with it but at this time, the ideapad y550 is the better of the 2.

You may want to wait a week or two and see what the new I5 CPUs have to offer from both camps ...
