I'm looking for users who have dell studio 1737 with 1920x1200 resolution and CCFL Panel (also I know that there is RGB LED version with same resolution).
I have serious problem with mine. It is serviced about two months now and they can't do anything about this. They replaced about five LCD panels, inverter, all connectors, whole cover etc. - everything without effect. At the end they phoned me and said that they can't do anything about this and I have to live with this. They said it's FullHD screen so some strange things are allowed there and according to dell LCD policy its normal. I asked where I can read about this and could not have an answer - the only article I could find was about bright/dark pixels (which means hot and death pixels). Here there is very noticable difference between lines in LCD. The service also could not answer me why the effect was only on the left side of screen. I replied that I will not take this computer back until it's fixed because I never saw such ugly screen. Shame that they can easily see that something is wrong, but just don't know what to replace to have it fixed.
It's ridicules that after almost two months there is still problem, half of this computer was in central service (warsaw). What about dell service policy - I bought "next bussiness day" for 4 years! There is also mentioned that with such warantee I should get "dell premium LCD warantee"... and what?
Ok. I'm now looking for people who have similar model with same LCD screen. I have to know if this is normal. I still have my money back because I was lied that this computer will come with PVA screen which is just lie and according to our polish law it's not the product what is expected to be. I'm really frustrated with this case.
Tthe computer was made in Poland, also it was serviced in Warsaw where Ii had to sent it back.

I would call dell and demand a Upgrade replacement for your trouble.

This is very easy to say
I was calling dell many times, they end up with conclusion that nothing else can be done with this computer. Screen was replaced several times and it not helped - the problem was always the same. I had to send computer to dell and it's still there. They said that I can't make them to do anything because computer was bought from dell partner and the only thing I can do is to ask for money back there, because they will not repair this - the reason is that it's fullHD so it can have many problems. Maybe someone know better place to report this problem than Dell Poland which is just ridiculus
The main problem is that some pixels are birighter than others. There is about 75% of display affecteedRight side is ok and looks normal, if vista start button would be there then it would look like this:
The left side is not looking normal, on my computer it's like:
The problem is for sure hardware - it can be seen before windows boots, there is also strange animation from this lower left side. For me this display is just broken and I will not take this computer back with this. I can't even browse webpages with those stripes.
Maybe someone know where I can report this to company? maybe they will make polish division to repair this somehow. I think parts don't fit each other, till now only the same parts were replaced.
I'm also looking for people who have same model. This is almost full configuration (lacking only umts modem and backlit keyboard). I;m looking for someone who have just dell studio 1737 with fullhd ccfl panel. In Poland there is no option for LED FullHD option.
Computer was made in Poland about end of december. I bought it in somewhere about ferbruary. Month later I called service and till now it's beeing repaired (about two months!). I can't stand this anymore
Now I'm looking for people who have same ccfl panel and resolution. -
If they've replaced your display and everything related to it 5 times, perhaps it's an issue with your graphics card. Try getting that replaced next.
And if Dell tells you they don't have to fix that, they're flat out lying to you. -
When I first called them they asked me for photos with this issue. I told them that some lines of pixels are righter and there is strange animation on black. This is easy to notice. They decided to to change LCD panel.
First LCD came broken, service man replaced it but there was no image at all. Later they had some problems to get next LCD, few days later finally there was one, but replace had no effect. Service man ordered new inverter which is separated from LCD.
Also this not helped, so they decided to replace LCD, inverrter, cables and lcd covers. The problem was still the same. After this I had no contact from them, after few days I phoned them and was informed that they have done everything so I have to live with that. I asked why right side is ok? Why service mans agreed (three) that there is a problem? The answer I got was that it's FullHD and there can be some problems and I should expect them.
Then I called shop where computer was bought. They promised as dell's partner to help. They called dell and they was informed that computer have to be sent back to central dell service because the problem is unusal. After last repair when few parts were replaced I had many bluescreens so I agreed and returned it to shop, where they sent it to dell.
They called me few days later to ask about password for vista. I asked if problem is visible - person which I was talking said that it is, but he don't know yet what's that. They will try to test it and call me. After about two weeks they called me and said that they tried to replace something and it's not LCD, it's not inverter and they are unable to fix this so I have to live with that. I asked why they were replacing parts if this is normal? Why they have done it once more. The reply was that sometimes parts are not equal and maybe this would help. This is insane!
Befor computer was sent to dell I bought 24" fullHD LCD. The display there was perfect. After last repair I got plenty of bluescreens in vista. The reason may be last repair when few parts were replaced. Maybe something was not connected properly after this. Soon befor I got bluescreen screen was flashing three times (both laptop and external LCD). This was another reason to sent it back to dell for repair.
Right now computer is still in dell. I can't make them to repair this, and can't make shop to return my money. I know my right but just wanted to have this repaired. I don't care that it tooks about two month, that I lost so much time on this, just have to have my computer back. You can see the problem from images below. It's of course just quick simulation but I have also hi-res photo of this issue. Right now I'm just looking for others who have similar model/parts and can confirm or deny that they also have same issue. I'm certain that it's hardware problem, I showed this to many people and it's easy to see, nobody never have seen such ugly display
Yet again - I'm looking for people who have similar model/panel.
Maybe someone can help me with this issue. I need confirmation that it's not normal. Hope somebody will help me!
It's shame on polish dell division that they are lie, they are unproffesional and they count that users will not try to fight for their rights.It's sad that You can spend big amount of money and can't use such computer

I tried to contact with polish division of dell, they said they have done everything and I have to accept this.I showed them problem desscription on dell's site, troubleshot guide etc. All of them are clear that this is defect.
Do anybody know where I can contact with dell outside Poland? this service tag belongs to Poland but warranty is international (4 years!).
The computer is still in dell poland service
