Dell is replacing my studio 1735. I was curious, how long does it take before the new system will show up on your account on average?

This post is a few days after the fact...did you get any info' on your replacement system?

It shouldn't take that long to get the necessary information. You can always contact a Dell Rep, for an update! ;)

The DPS number they give you is practically worthless.

Also, the time to show in your account can take 1 day all the way to about 2 weeks. Then it has to build. I found the best way to do it is to check your CUSTOMER number on dell.com once a day till it shows. It WILL show in the order status as just a normal computer order, so you will get an estimated shipdate and breakdown of components.

Also, Dell has a nasty habit of screwing up on specs for system exchange systems. I have had where they insisted that a Celeron 2.0Ghz was the same as a Core 2 2.20Ghz (I assume its because they use offshored people to set up the exchanges that do not know anything about computers) and that a 7200rpm hard drive was the same as a 5400rpm drive. So make sure that the specs either MEET or EXCEED in EVERY CATEGORY what you originally had, because if not, they need to send you a different exchange system. (If this happens, talk to tech support, and if they can not do anything, ask for a resolutions specialist to call you)
