One of the news reports said the M1330 they'll be selling is White.. hope they offer Red as well.. The glossy white is not my favorite... I just received a Best Buy gift card from work... wish I hadn't bought my M1330 already..... :(

Wonder how long this will take to actually be available..

Probably low-end, I would imagine. That would keep the price low and mom and pop will look at the "style" of the laptop and will be thrilled that they got such a beatiful looking laptop for $999 :)

I bet they'll have about the same configs and prices as the HP laptops, which are currently wiping the floor with Dell.

That's what i was thinking to myself. I bet they'll have someone sit there for days and listen for any whining sound before they send them any of the display models. But they won't do the same for me.

Last i checked I was WAY more important than Best Buy, or any of their customers. Atleast in my books anyway.

Yeah, but Best Buy's return policy on computers sucks. Last time I bought a Toshiba 17" a couple of years ago and the screen had dead pixels (5 IIRC). Anyway, I sat there for 30 minutes trying to get them to listen to me (I was arguing that the laptop was defective so I wouldn't have to pay the 15% restocking fee).

Anyway, there was no getting through to those idiots and I ended up paying close to $400 out of pocket for the damn restocking fee. Needless to say that was the last item purcased at BB.

Man, you should never have to pay a restocking fee for a defective return. I've returned stuff there that was broken and got a new one without a hassle.

That's the problem. The fee is supposed to be waived for defective items, but everyone including the store manager wouldn't listen. They powered it on and since it turned on they said it is not defective.

To be honest, I don't shop in stores anymore. You can find MUCH better deals online, by far.....

Next time pay using your credit card. WHen the credit card company takes the money back from them they'll be more than happy to replace your laptop, or take the defective one without a restocking fee.

I hate using credit, although it would have helped in that case. It doesn't matter because BB and CC are a bunch of rip-offs, really.

I am looking into getting an SXRD for a graduation present and Amazon has the KDS-50A3000 for $1500 with free shipping. The last time I saw that set in BB it was $2400 (not incl tax) :)

well if they did that to me.... i would take it outside, break the bat in half and try to return again. This time it wouldnt turn on and the dumbasses could stare at me dumbfounded...

or take it home and break both ram sticks in half. that might work better since its less obvious.

Fdisk the HD to no partitions. It will turn on and have an invalid disk. Or apply some extra voltage to the ram and fry them. Then they cant come back at u for breaking.

Oh, and on the subject of BB selling Dell, you will probably only see the cheapest models. I went to Staples to look at Dells, and they had a 14" and 17" Inspiron's and a desktop. They were all lowest models.

A little off topic but I just got a KDS60a3000 for 2050 at tweeter. Its 2199 at sony.com. Where are you getting the price of 2400 for a 50"?

does that mean "The Geek Squad" are going to be trained to perform upgrades on dell laptops? I dunno if I would want a best buy tech opening my laptop.
