Dell to drop Intel Only policy. Meaning MAYBE soon would see AMD options.

    Sigh.
    http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12872928/

Which makes me wonder if we wait a month.. would the E1505 and E1705 would 1: Be cheaper.. but 2: The way they they seem to be adding new options so quick.. one week after you order.. its like wham.. more GFX card options.

So my guess is 3: They will offer AMD on popular selling models soon. Sigh.. Would be NICE to have a AMY 64 bit dual core. lol..

But current AMD mobile CPU is not as good as Intel, in terms of both power consumption and performance. I would much prefer to buy Intel Core Duo for notebook.

since servers are so vastly different to the mobile market, there's likely little effect or any this'll have on the notebook design manufacturing decisions Dell takes.

i agree for a notebook don't put an amd desktop prossor in it it will take to much power,

on the other hand i will take an amd in a desktop any day(much better for gaming)

from the article "some high end servers".

that's totally different than a notebook.

as well, those are completely independent divisions of dell. enterprise corporate backend solutions is totally different than consumer (and even business) notebooks.

I belive that dell is moving away from the mass market all together, and moving on to just corporate/ smallbuisness/ schools and will be selling to the mass market via alienware (and hopefully also high end market)

Who knows, Either way, figured I would post this.

ALSO rem some people like me.. RARELY use DC power.. meaning a AMD wouldnt bother us types.. would only mean we may get stronger performance from it.

AMD on desktop is god.. I love my AMD 3000+ hehe..

Intel Duo however IS a STRONG thing for laptops right now. The E1505 really has a nice balance indeed! Then the speedstepping feature. NICE. Normally in the past, had to bios set something.

Either way, thought I would post the article anyways. =)
