    Hi All,

I am planning to purchase a Dell Vostro 1500 notebook. The price I am being quoted is $743.02 after tax. The config for the laptop is,

    PROCESSOR - Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5270 (1.4GHz/800Mhz FSB/2MB cache)
OPERATING SYSTEM - Genuine Windows Vista® Home Basic
LCD PANEL - 15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA LCD Display
    MEMORY - 2GB Shared Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 667MHz, 2 DIMM
    HARD DRIVE - 160GB 5400RPM Hard Drive
    OPTICAL DRIVE - 8X CD/DVD Burner w/ double-layer DVD+R write capability
VIDEO CARD - Intel® Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100
    WI-FI WIRELESS CARD - Dell Wireless 1390 802.11g Wi-Fi Mini Card
WEBCAM - Integrated 2.0 mega pixel Web Camera edit
BATTERIES - 56 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
WARRANTY & SERVICE - 1 Year Limited Hardware Warranty with Mail-in Service

Is it possible to get a further discount or does anybody know of a coupon which will help me reduce the price further. Also, can I get a further discount by calling in to return the laptop after delivery? Any help given is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.
    Peace.

You can get a 30% off $999+ coupon from ebay. Idk what you mean by getting a further discount by calling them after delivery. Do you think that if you threaten to return the product they will give some of your money back? It doesn't really work that way.

Also, get the least amount of memory possible, then buy the rest from an online store to save some money on that.

I'm pretty sure you can get a better deal that laptop. There is a 10% off coupon, but it's only good on models over $1200. But it does stack with the instant saving. Your best bet is to find a model that already has a good $200-300 off.

I think he means that if there is a better deal that comes out shortly after he buys can he get it? I would say yes. Worse case, if it's in the 21 day return, just return it and get a new with the discount.

For this kind of configuration i was quoted a $679.00 + tax

what is your tax rate ?

you could use your lappy for up to 21 days from the day of the delivery and than return it for full refund, ofcause dell's will ask you why you are not happy with your notebook and propably try to give you something or credit your account so you would keep that laptop or at least be ok with exchanging it for another

he doesn't have to spend $1200.00 in order for him get 10% off coupon which is only $120.00.

he is already getting a $ 310.00 off coupon on $989.00 system which is a whooping 31% off discount

    few more things

    1. i would strongly suggest to upgrade processor to at least 1.8GHz (because 1.4GHz and 1.6GHz very rubbish)

    2. i would strongly suggest to upgrade video card to 128GB (because you'll be running Vista)

    3. apply a 10% off coupon code H2B91VBGBV$?B1

in return you'll get much more powerful notebook for only $138.20 more + tax on this $138.20 (basically by getting 30% faster top rated processor for $130.00 you get a 128MB video card for only $8.20)

    Hope I could help

    1. Configure online, save the cart and then call for a better deal.
    2. You can try calling to cancel after the laptop is shipped but not yet delivered. You might be offered a discount to keep the notebook.
