Just got my vostro, a very powerfull computer. But I have a issue with it.
In idle mode the fan (I think it is the graphic card fan) is going 24/7.
Is there any chance to make the fan stop blowing even in idle mode? Maybe underclock the graphic card or something? Maybe some bios update?

Damn, I maybe bought a to powerfull computer. I want a death silence laptop...maybe I should buy a laptop with the geforce 8400 go or ATi Radeon X2500, instead...

Even when a computer is idle, it is still doing work and generating heat, so the fan has to keep spinning to blow the heat off - it will spin slower, but I don't think in can or should stop completely.

I had a HP laptop before (with ATI radeon 9200 graphic card), in idle mode the fan was still. A very silence computer.

I think I gonna return this cumputer....but the big problem is I already has partitionated the harddrive and formated it and installed win xp instead of vista.
    Conclusion: Damn!

Well the difference in power between the 9200 and the 8600 GT is huge.

Yeah I know, but 5 years ago, the 9200 was a killa graphic card, best of the best, and still so silent =)
