    Hi all,
I would like to have an information about what to choose between Dell and MSI

It would be an Inspiron 1520 or 1525
    something like that: http://cgi.ebay.ca/DELL-Inspiron-1520-2GHz-T7300-DVD-Laptop-SXGA-2G-160GB_W0QQitemZ250197230428QQihZ015QQcategoryZ140080QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

    Vs

    A MSI GX600 neo edition:
    http://cgi.ebay.ca/MSI-GX600-Gaming-Laptop-Nvidia-8600-GT-512mb-15-T7250_W0QQitemZ300182202873QQihZ020QQcategoryZ177QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Like you can see they are virtually the same price so its more a question of durability (built quality), because I will use it for gaming and for school, so it will often cary it with me...
And I would like to know if the is a big difference of speed?

    Thx a lot

    They both have there bottlenecks.

Dell = DDR2 RAM in the video card.
MSI = Poor CPU for gaming IMHO.

None of which cripple the machines. But I personally never liked MSI, and I can back up Dell that if you have problems they'll bend over backwards to help you.

Oops just look at the specs, both machines are DDR2 vram. Well personally I'd go for the Dell anyways.

In that picture, the Dell is the 17" 1720..Don't know if that's an typo in the model number or just the wrong picture.

hey b2eyo the CPU in the MSI is the T7250.... which is way more than needed for gaming. Even T5250 can play modern games. The bottleneck is the GPU.

Id consider getting the MSI if you feel the price is okay with you.

lol that cpu is just fine for gaming , i can tell i got it.
the graphic card is the bottleneck , and never the cpu.

Ok ok so you all would go with MSI, but will it last me 3 years being caried everywhere?
Same question is good for the 1525...

In term of performance, the msi is better?

    thanks

Read it geeks, I said the GPU is the bottleneck for the Dell.. lol

And anything below 4MB - I consider ew, but that's me. That's why I said 'in my honest opinion'. :p

    Read it better people.
