Ok, I got my 1501 yesterday and there is a cable poking up through the keyboard, specifically the spacebar. I was online with Dell and they told me to take off the keyboard and stick it back in. If I were to screw something up would this void the warranty? Is it that easy to remove/replace the keyboard?

That will not void your warranty, especially if they tell you to remove the keyboard.

It's not terribly difficult to do, be careful not to lose any screws and be patient with the ribbon cables.

There should be a guide on Dell's website which will tell you have to take apart your laptop.

Takes less the 2 minutes to do it.
