Keep getting the following error message -

"No supported webcam driver detected. Please install the driver using the dell resource disc and launch the center again"

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the driver multiple times and I have the newest driver.

I reinstalled the dell webcam manager and still the same error.

A bit more information would be helpful. What Dell laptop are you using? Is this on 64-bit Windows XP or Vista?

    It's a studio 1537 running a fresh install of vista 64.

Cam works thru yahoo and messenger. I just cannot figure out why the dell software tells me there is no driver. I even tried following a post that said to change the install directory, but had the same results.

Any chance there is 3rd party software?

Sorry, that part wasn't clear. The error message says to use the disc but I dl'd the newest 64bit driver from the dell website.

I think it's the dell webcam software causing the issue since the driver is insalled and working with other programs.

I messed around a little and the cam works/records in virtualdub. I just haven't used the software in a while and can't get the audio/video to sync.

Ah, so you're saying Dell Webcam Central is the only thing that doesn't work?

Unfortunately, Dell doesn't offer it for download on their site, but if you call customer service and ask for a new Webcam Central disk, they'll send it to you pretty quickly, probably for free. The latest version may fix this for you. It works just fine on my 64-bit Vista on Studio 1535.

I have the same problem. On my Studio 1535, Dell webcam center never worked. It always gave the said error message. I talked with so many chat representatives and all of them did the same thing: uninstall and reinstall both dell webcam center and the webcam driver. My webcam works fine with other programs, but Dell Webcam Center was the one Dell application that I actually wanted to use. It's been over a month now and even reinstalling my OS did nothing, I just gave up because there doesn't seem to be a solution. If you happen to get it working please post back here with the steps you took to fix it. Good luck. :)

That's unusual. Webcam Central works perfectly for me on Vista 64-bit. Maybe your version is outdated...see if Dell will send you a new disk.
