I ordered my xps 1530 early the morning of 12/1/2008 because i had a 30% off coupon code. It showed a ship date of 12/9/2008 with an arrival of 12/10/2008 (i had next day shipping).

On 12/10/2008 i received an email from Dell saying my order has been delayed till 12/19/2008 with an arrival of 12/22/2008. I contacted CS to find out what the deal was and they said "unexpected issues", that's all they could tell me.

Well last night (12/17) the order went into boxing and has been there since. I called CS to see if they could tell me whether it would be here on 12/22 as expected all they could say is it is in boxing.

I've done some research on the "boxing" stage and apparently it means the laptop is in Asia awaiting to be sent to Nashville then to my home?

Does anyone actually know if that is the correct information for the boxing stage. Can my laptop really still be here on 12/22/2008?

I'm starting to get discouraged with this whole Dell process.

Wow. They're still doing this delaying business? I ordered the Dell XPS M1530 back in May, but when they didn't deliver in three weeks, as they had promised, I cancelled the order. Am I glad I did. I feel for you. I really do.

    Hey there!
My I9 was ordered 11/28..to be shipped 12/10 for 12/11 delivery.

Last week I received email notification that it was delayed.
After constant contact with my rep, I found out a part was on back order. And the new ESD was 12/19 for 12/22 arrival.

I checked automated on Tuesday and it was in the *boxing* stage. This morning, I woke up to find it has been shipped. :D

So, the build stage is essentially anywhere from 2-5 days, I would say ~ just to be safe. I think that you will move out of the boxing stage into the shipping stage very soon. Mine was shipped out of TN, BTW ;)

Check this thread on the laptop order stages, very helpful! :D

I believe you lappy will be there on 12/22 :D
I know it's discouraging..but try and stay patient a bit longer!

    Cin ;) :)

I really hope its here by the 22nd. This entire ordeal has been horrible. I've order several PCs/Laptops from Dell and this by far has been the only time i have had issues.

Well i just got the email. Delayed unitl the 12/29 and will be delivered on the 30th. Pretty odd since its in the boxing stage.

;( i accepted the FTC agreement and now have another 10 days to wait.

Just got off the phone with Customer Care. I was inquiring why if my laptop is in the boxing stage would it take another 10days to be delivered.

After the CS agent looked up my order he said "I have no idea why your order has been delayed. It shows to be in the boxing stage and i would assume your order will ship in the next 24hrs."

He told me to keep checking the status over the next 2 days and if i dont see it ship by Tuesday to call back and escalate.

Yes, but are you happy with this? That FTC agreement sucks..and having to wait another 10 days sucks to!!!

Why can't you have a Rep, handling your case and checking this out for you?..Why should you the customer have to do all the legwork on something..that isn't your fault. That is my gripe when lack of good customer service comes into play.

Bah.. I have no patience today with the ignorance of reps at Dell...or people who just don't care (I'm referring to Dell Reps/certain ingorance I see)

    Cin.
