I can't find a lot of information on Dell's intel draft-N wireless card but from what the rep told me, it doesn't make anything go any faster unless I have a draft N router. He also told me to hold out on it because draft-N is not finalized and dell can't guarantee upgradability to the true .11N format. But I heard that draft N card itself is an upgrade in a sense that it has better range and makes g faster, is this true?

Yes thats basically it.
Also an N card can go FULL SPEED on a G router. Where G cards on a G router the speed fluctuates . Plus the signal strength is much better. -
That's not entirely true, it's currently Draft 2 which means the hardware is finalized. Compatibility is GUARANTEED with the true 802.11n final version after a firmware upgrade.

Why would it make G faster?
Also keep in mind that speed is irrelevant for internet use, since practically no one has an internet connection as fast as even B wireless.
Also, I would expect it to have better range only when using N.
