Dell is planning to outsource manufacturing of its low-cost PCs to Compal Electronics with initial shipments likely to reach up to one million units, according to a Chinese-language Economic Daily News (EDN) report citing market watchers.
Compal and Dell teamed up for the development of a low-cost PC project last year. Products are expected to start shipping in July, added the paper.

Hell i would pick one up if the price is right. It wouldnt have to be a windows based machine either. Id go for linux to save a buck.

That's quite the assumption based on the article. I'd personally assume they're talking about low-end desktops (since it uses the term "PC").

I believe that that Dell is planning sn EEE competitor, I read about it a while back. And since Acer and Hp have theirs, Dell isn't going to dit back and let them get all the sales.
