    So...I found this on the dell website:

    This might explain a lot of the graininess

    more sparkle=wider viewing angle??

    If that's true, I'd rather have the glare.
    If it's a coating causing the problem, then there seem to be both good coatings and bad coatings.
    Does the coating material get dirty or something?

    Dell uses cheap screens. They use 6bit TN panels that suck.
