I'm planning on buying a Vostro 1500 from the Canadian site some time tommorow and I have a question. With the Canadian site (not sure if it's the same with US) they have several hot offers where you get money off for buying a certain set up of a laptop, the more features the more money off. Except these offers only allow me to upgrade the cpu to a t7500 when I'd rather save $100 and get a T7300 with the special offer and then upgrade something else. Would dell do this kind of deal if I call and asked to have it personalized this way? I really have no use slight cpu increase, and am tight on money, so if I could save the extra $100, while still being eligble for the 'hot offer' it would be awesome sauce. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Usually the 'hot offers' are the way they are because they're configured a certain way.

However, that shouldn't prevent you from calling them up and seeing what they can do nonetheless - just make sure you tell them from which system you're starting from, otherwise, they'll take the default template, which you don't want. I had that problem (they were looking at a different starting config than I, when I called Dell Canada). The sales reps usually have a few more options at their disposal that is shown on the web configuration.

    Hope that helps.
