On their customize area it appears that they dont offer the 7200 rpm HD. Anyone know why they changed that?

i don't know...but i'm willing to guess that some of the models will not have the top of the line options on them anymore, thus forcing consumers to purchase higher end notebooks for these same options.

It also depends on what parts Dell has available at the time. They will usually offer 7200RPM drives, but if they're in tight supply, Dell might drop them from their site until they get them back in stock to prevent shipping delays. What model are you looking at in particular?

all the parts come and go depending on supply
sometimes a particular gpu/hd/etc isn't available for a couple days
it'll be back -
ive noticed taht sometimes dell says under the option "May delay the delivery of your computer"...i think thats what they put if they wanna tell you they are out of stock on it
