It’s using the same uhd panel as last gens 7577. I covered it on the channel. Great display!

Seems like the G3 with a 1060 and 16gb ram can be had for $830 after you put in the code 50OFF699.
    Pretty crazy bargain.
    EDIT:and suddenly it's back to $930, a glitch maybe?

been lurking and thinking of pulling the trigger on either a 7577 when they drop into the outlet store UK direct from the retail one,,, or the G5 as love both cases (obviously they are the same bar some ports)

at the moment they have similar prices in the UK, but they ship slightly cheaper with Ubuntu!

im sure im not making this up, but this being OEM you can just re install windows on these can you not ??? just seems a no brainer to get the ubuntu version and change it if you need to,

Does anyone know if there is a 120 Hz panel compatible with the 17" G3, I only found a few but they had 40 Pin connectors so I assume not compatible?

No, if you order with Ubuntu, it will not activate if you try and install Windows (unless you purchase a license). The cost difference you're seeing is the license cost.

oh ok thanks, glad i didn't buy, never tried ubuntu,

but was just looking at my options, as usual always on a tight budget, but just pulled the trigger on a Dell Outlet inspiron 15 7577 gaming laptop

for just under 600 UK notes the exact model in the retail store was around £100 more, just could not justify spending any more really,

    thanks again for the reply

Hi, could you be more clear please? If I buy a license (of the cheap ones for around $10) I can install Windows without problems, correct? There isn't any kind of weird lock that won't let me install Windows on it, right?

    Thanks.

You can purchase a license for windows and install it without issue. I would caution you with the $10 windows "licenses" as they are often OEM keys that are being sold illegally.
