I orderd my XPS Last Friday, and I got an email Saturday saying it shipped, I was stoked. But the Carrier info/tracking number wasnt there yet "Data temp unavilable"

I chatted w cust service and they said its physically hasnt left the warehouse yet once it does the carrier info will show up. I was like well why in the heck would you marked it shipped if it didn't leave the wharehouse yet?

Anyhow she told me "it will show up monday" Checked yesterday still said "data temp unavailable" checked today still there, WTF is up with that?
I wonder if this thing shipped yet?

It says my est shipping arrival is 14-16 I wish they would of shipped it Monday and it would of gotten here alot quicker!

Check with Customer Service, they will give you the information before it is posted online. I got my tracking information on Thursday when my laptop shipped before it was updated on the site today

It's been two years since I ordered from Dell but for the 3 systems I've ordered from them in the past I've never received any timely shipment indications or tracking numbers. When I bought my M140 a couple of years ago I did get an email stating that my system had shipped and I'd receive it shortly, but I actually received the email FROM MY NEW M140 which had already arrived the day before. Later the same day I receved one of those automated phone calls saying "Congratulations, your system has shipped!"

To the OP...as far as marking it shipped when it's still in the warehouse, I imagine that as soon as they slap the label on it it's officially "shipped," even if the carrier doesn't physically pick it up until Monday morning, or whenever.

Same thing happened to me. I just use service tag from invoice as reference for tracking. it worked with DHL website. Just select "track by reference" then put the service tag in the reference box and it works fine.

Yup, mine is sitting at the DHL depot waiting for me to pick it up, and it still says unavailable. Call CS and have them give you the tracking number.

the whole shipping process usually takes 10-14 days. Dells site does not always have the most up to date shipping info

I can only report a good shipping experience thus far. After 4 days in the boxing stage, my Dell rep called me over the weekend to tell me that DHL had received my order for pickup and gave me the tracking number. Got on DHL's site and can see that my XPS is out for delivery this morning :D

So far so good. Only thing that could go wrong is that I bought my XPS through an EPP and the first line of the address is my company's name, even though its being shipped to a residential address.

Call Customer Care, and have them link you with the tracking number directly. They did this for me, and it helped ;) :) They even put me on hold, and contacted DHL to see exactly where my notebook was. (I was checking online and the tracking number hadn't been updated properly).

And, I found that Dell Chat has not been very useful for me in the past. So, I just call vs. using chat. ;)

My 1530 was ordered the same way thru EPP, and shipped the same way. ;)

No worries! It will still get delivered to you home addy, even with your companies name on it ;) :)

I'm in the same boat. My wife picked it up for me today. First thing is look it over and make sure all is good. Second step, clean install and set it up the way I like.

Got my DHL tracking number from Dell. It says DHL picked it up on May 10th. Said Today would be the delivery day but I noticed it left Ohio at noon today, called DHL, "werre sorry it left late was supposed to leave early this morning but it did not so It will be delivered tomorrow" :( DHL TRULY SUCKS!!!! Dont ever use them. SO Much for 2nd day shipping.

Its now Wednesday still no XPS. :(

DHL screwed up as usual and mis-sorted it and it went from 2nd day to on the "ground" truck from OH to RI. Then its got to get to Windsor locks CT warehouse, then to my house. grrr DHL told me it will be delivered tomorrow, Thursday, it better be because I'm off of work and I have to be home and sign for the thing.

I called DHL and complained. told them I am going to call Dell so they can atleast have a record and get their money back and I will ask for something also.

At least you are fortunate enough to have the notebook with DHL moving towards your house. Some of us have to wait a little over a month for our XPS' to be shipped out.

Last year there were people waiting over three months.
