I read through a bunch of posts on Vista yesterday, So if this question has been discussed, I missed it.

Does anyone know if Dell's upgrade disks will allow us to do a clean install of Vista(not an upgrade?). After my 6400 was in production (which had xp home to keep costs down), I realized that I would betting Vista Home Basic.

I want, at least, Home Premium. So, my plan is to install Basic from Dell, and do the online upgrade to Premium through Microsoft. I figure that should be the cheapest route. However, if Dell makes the upgrade a pain, I may just shell out the money for my own upgrade disk.

    Thanks :)
