    Hi all!

First of all I wanted to thank you all for the great source of information this community has already been!

For my thesis, I’m currently working on a study of Dell's supply chain.
Now, I was trying to map their asset footprint, to understand how and why they choose a particular location.

I would like to check with you guys if anyone could help me out?

Any information on the location of Dell’s distribution centers (owned or outsourced) would really be valuable for me!

    Many thanks!

Mt. Juliet Tennessee is one location I know of since products I've purchased from Dell have shipped from there. That's near Nashville, a FedEx hub. I believe many PCs are flown from China into Nashville and sent out to other cities from there.

FedEx’s main hub is in Memphis, not Nashville.

All of my computer/laptop/server orders from dell have gone from China/Russia to Mt. Juliet, TN, then from Mt. Juliet to the final destination in the US.

Returns, however, are sent to Lebanon, TN (I think the repair/return center is there.)

My accessory order (Dell Power Companion) was shipped to me from Chicago rather than Mt. Juliet. I'm guessing that smaller items go through customs in Chicago and are kept in a warehouse there.

I just bought a Latitude from the Business Outlet and it shipped from Lebanon TN, so apparently everything gets returned there, refurbed and shipped back out.
