OK. i was supposed to get my laptop shipped yesterday, but it got delayed until june 5th, 2008 (esd). I called dell the next day, and they told me that the delay happend due to shortage on parts and that alot of people ordered the same laptop as i did on the same day, but they also told me that they recieved parts so there shouldn't be a problem... do any of you think that these days are legit???
ordered: 5/20
1st esd: 5/29, 2nd esd: 6/5
1st estimated delivery:6/3 - 6/5, 2nd estimated delivery: 6/10 - 6/12

Your inability to know what months things happened on confuses me.
-
month - 1 -
The_Observer 9262 is the best:)
May be they are indeed.lol
-
what do u mean i don't know what months things are happening on i put all the delays and dates..
-
are you from the future???????? If so whats it like?????????
-
lol, what are you talking about
-
5 is may
6 is june
7 is july -
lol ok i fixed it now sorry about that, i did not notice that
-
much better
-
that's better -
does anyone know if dell actually shows testing, and boxing as an order stats. My order status has been in production for 2 weeks..
-
Calling them provides more detailed information, testing wont usually last more than a few hours.
-
do you have an idea when testing should happen, like 2 days before shipping date or what?
-
Testing will happen for a few hours, then boxing. Boxing can be from 1 to 4 days, then you ship.
-
-
but does it show up on the order status screen. for example right now mine says in production will that change to testing, or boxing?
-
If you call the automated order status line they will tell you what part of production you are in. -
lol everytime i call they say that it is in pre production, and on the website it says in production
-
-
Sigh, I swear to god, honestly this **** gets repeated 50 times a day.
THE WEBSITE WILL LIST IN PRODUCTION FOR EVERY STAGE. THE HOTLINE WILL GIVE YOU MORE STEPS OF THE PRODUCTION CYCLE.
1. PRE-PRODUCTION
2. BUILD
3. TESTING
4. BOXING
ALL OF THOSE STAGES ARE CONSIDERED "IN PRODUCTION" ON THE WEBSITE. -
correct...
-
Use the individual order number for the laptop and the automated order status line will magically become more accurate. -
ooomg i didn't know that... it's in build stage that is so kool
-
Kool? Err depends. Mine remained in "build stage" for over 25 days..
-
i know mine has been delayed already
-
Does anyone know if dell still has color delays, because i noticed that now dell delays your order if you order black, i ordered blue so i don't know
-
Item-------------Delay Time*
Flamingo Pink-----3 days
Tuxedo Black-----None
Midnight Blue-----5 days -
ok so it get's delayed 5 days after the first estimated ship date? or what..
-
-
Now that I've already ordered, how can I find my estimated build time?
Good to hear that Tuxedo Black is not in delay. -
Ok so the estimated build time is from the day that you ordered untill the estimated ship date correct. i'm not sure where to find it that is why i am asking
O and by the way i ordered a dell inspiron not a XPS 1530 just to let you know, not sure if that makes the date any diffrent -
Crap i think they are going for another delay it's supposed to be shipped tommorow and it's still in the build stage, man how much longer are they going to make people wait. i don't know why my laptop is getting delayed.. This is going to be my first laptop and i can't wait to get it
