Just leave the status in kitting.
That way at least your customers know what exactly is going on with their system.

They should let the customers know of any delays.

Yeah...and the status should actually reflect the stage of production the computer is in...

Yeah, and gas should cost 90 cents a gallon..

Look, this is my last input on this. They make money, end of story. People come here just like I did, read horror stories of delays needed 3 replacements, and guess what. We order ours! Dell makes good laptops in the end. Lawsuits or not, they still make money. Until people accutally start going with other people and knock down profits, nothing will change.

Profit is the only thing that will make them change their ways. Telling you they dont have all the parts, that makes them loose profit.

Dell makes good laptops...I don't care if I have to wait a bit longer because of part delays (well...I care...but I'd still stick with dell).

It would just be nice to know exactly what's going on as opposed to...well...not.

Right, but if Dell is being completly upfront and honest, and saying there are a week long backorder on something, people cancel. That hurts profits.

    Profits, profits, profits! :-D
