Back in August, I ordered myself a XPS M1330, which started at $1399 at the time, which I thought was a bit expensive, and at that time, I didnt know much of laptops, so I ordered my M1330 with:

    T7100 CPU- 1.8ghz
    Tuxedo Black casing
    Standard Display
    1GB of Ram
    INTEL X3100

which cost me $1459 without taxes.

OK, I've already exchanged my 1330 twice cause of build issues, but Dell never let me upgrade the components inside.
    They actually LIED to me!
In a e-mail, they said you can DEFINATELY upgrade the system when you recieve it, so I chose that method, instead of asking for a full refund.
When I got it, they said : "You can not upgrade the system, because you've already had the laptop for over 30 days, and our policy here at Dell is that we only have a 30 day satisfaction garauntee."

HMM, I wonder if their policy says " We lie to customers."

Now, can someone tell me something I can say to Dell so I can upgrade my system??

Why would they let you upgrade the components? The Intel X3100 is unupgradeable as it soldered on to the motherboard. When they talk about upgrade I'm assuming that you have to return the unit and then if you're not satisfied with in in the 30 days provided, you can get a refund to build a new system. I wonder if they charge a restocking fee?

Also, you can easily upgrade the RAM.

Send it back for a refund as "not fit for purpose" and say you were told it would run Crysis when it obviously doesn't!

If they kick up a fuss, tell them you will be calling your credit card to arrange a charge back for "false advertising" ;) and selling faulty goods!

Either way you will def get your money back! But the charge back method will be quicker (but only available if you paid by credit card), and then you will have a free M1330 lying around the house until they come to collect it (which will be pretty quick once your credit card has given you back your money!).

And the fact they lied to you means you should never go near them again! They messed me about, and now I'm waiting for someone to collect my 2nd (replacement) system for a full refund! But if they start messing me round again I will be calling VISA! ;)

Then I'm moving over to the Sony SZ camp! :D

I am on my 5th day waiting for Dell to pick up my M1330. I did the charge back thing two days ago. Still no response from Dell after the email that said UPS would pick up the next day!

I'm a little confused. Do you mean you mean that they led you to believe you could upgrade the entire system or just the components? If they led you to believe you could upgrade the entire thing, they were partially correct only you have to return it within the 21 day return period and reorder. You cannot do it past that point.

As for the internal components, you can upgrade any that will allow for it at any time. You just buy the upgrades, install them yourself or have dell do it(which means you have to buy them from dell).

Perhaps there was just some misunderstanding on one or both sides.

They purpousely made me believe I can upgrade the system, untill 21 days past, then everything went downhill.
